The Context
Feb 2026. Fasta team needed a UI/UX designer for a new on-demand delivery platform.
Fasta Delivery is an e-commerce and on-demand marketplace for ordering food, groceries, and pharmacy items across Nigeria. I was brought on as the sole UI/UX designer to own the complete mobile app experience from onboarding to checkout, and a conversion-focused web landing page.
The Problem
No delivery platform was truly built around the real needs of Nigerian users ordering locally.
Existing platforms were too complex, too slow, or poorly adapted to local context unreliable delivery estimates, friction-heavy checkout flows, and interfaces that did not reflect the variety of what Nigerian users actually want to order. Fasta needed to solve all of this from the ground up.

The Objectives
Design and deliver a fast, intuitive mobile app and landing page for Fasta Delivery that makes ordering food, groceries, and pharmacy items effortless for everyday Nigerian users with a focus on speed, simplicity, and conversion.
This involved a full UX design thinking process: deep user research, synthesis, user personas, journey mapping, user flows, design system creation, and high-fidelity screens for all 9 core flows of the application.

I started by deeply understanding the users Fasta was being built for.
What frustrated Nigerian users most about existing delivery apps?
What did they really want from a marketplace experience?
What made them abandon orders before completing checkout?
I ran research across multiple touchpoints to build real empathy.
Studied competitor apps; Chowdeck, Jumia Food, Rouvoo.
Reviewed user complaints on app stores and social media.
Investigated user behaviour patterns in Nigerian delivery contexts.

I translated research into clear product requirements across three lenses.
What did users need to feel confident ordering?
What did the business need to drive conversions and vendor partnerships?
What did the tech constraints demand from the design?
Core Design Problem Statement
Nigerian users need a fast, trustworthy way to discover and order from local vendors, with a frictionless checkout and clear delivery information, so they return to the platform repeatedly.

I mapped the complete user flow before designing a single screen.
I generated concepts for both the buyer app and the admin dashboard experience.
Prioritised the ordering flow; the most frequent and highest-stakes journey for buyers.
Designed the admin dashboard to give Fasta full visibility and control over orders, vendors, and users.
Considered empty, loading, error, and success states throughout both surfaces.”

I built a design system first, then designed every screen with full consistency.
Established a visual language; orange as the primary action colour.
Designed reusable components: cards, buttons, inputs, bottom navigation.
Followed a mobile-first, clean interface assisted with AI (Claude & Stitch).
I delivered high-fidelity screens across all 9 core flows of the application.
Onboarding, auth, home, search, vendor detail, cart, checkout, tracking, profile.
Designed loading, empty, error, and success states throughout.
Structured a conversion-focused web landing page, admin dashboard alongside the mobile app.

5. TEST
I validated the designs through usability testing with real target users.
Shared the interactive prototype with users matching both personas.
Observed navigation from home screen to order completion.
Focused test sessions on the search, vendor, and checkout flows.
I gathered feedback and iterated on the highest-friction moments.
Identified where users hesitated or made errors in the flow.
Used findings to refine checkout steps and address entry.
Confirmed that the 2-step checkout felt natural and fast.
What Tested Well
What Needed Iteration
PIN confirmation message in checkout caused initial confusion.
Users wanted clearer separation between notes and delivery options.
Schedule delivery needed a date/time picker surfaced earlier.
